Let us pray for our holy father pope John Paul II:

Dear Lord;

Your will be done in all things. If it is Your will for John Paul's life on earth to come to an end, then take him up to heaven to be with you and all the faithful, and grant the church wisdom as it chooses a new leader. If it is Your will that he remain on earth, please restore him to health so that he may continue to lead the church in justice and righteousness. We ask this through Christ our Saviour. Amen.
