Lenten Mission

Our Lenten Mission was a wonderful experience of God’s grace upon those who attended from March 10-12th.
Lenten Mission

Led by Mrs. Linda Labelle, Coordinator of the Diocesan Office for Faith Development & Evangelization, participants were invited to reflect on the extent that they believe God loves them and the implications of that conviction in our own movement toward conversion.     The Samaritan woman at the well was the central biblical story used to illustrate the dynamics of conversion.    Music and song re-enforced the desire God has for each of us to believe in his love and to draw even closer to him through renunciation of sin and the embrace of the Gospel.    On the last night of the mission, Linda led the participants in looking at how we approach the sacrament of reconciliation today as opposed to how many of us were taught to approach it many years ago.    The emphasis today is on  consciousness of how my sins have social implications and affect not only be but those around me.      The mission ended with a penitential service in which Fr. Sam, Msgr. Angelo Caruso, and Fr. Jim Hutton  were ministers of reconciliation for any who felt called to celebrate God’s love and forgiveness in their lives.
