Pastor's Point To Ponder

Theophilus.   The name used by Luke here in the Acts of the Apostles means lover of God.   Think of how much you love your husband or wife, your child or significant other.   Think of the types of sacrifices you are willing to make for them, for their wellbeing, for their happiness, for their ability to live up to their fullest potential.   Think now of how much you love God!   What are you willing to do or become so that you can express your love to God?    What are you willing to give up that keeps you from expressing your full love of God?  Think of all the joy and happiness God has given you.   Think of all the many blessings he has bestowed upon you in this life.    Are you a Theophilus?   Are you a lover of God?   Will you show Him each and every day how much He means to you by your acts of love toward him and toward the people he has redeemed through his Precious Blood?   Some points to ponder, Theophilus, on this Solemnity of Ascension of our Lover to Heaven.
