Pastor’s Point to Ponder

With Christ we can all be made new.
“If anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see everything has become new!”   How true that statement by St. Paul really is!    Yet, sometimes perhaps we don’t live like it is true!   Sometimes we deceive ourselves into thinking that we can never be freed from whatever we may have done in our past that was perhaps sinful or hurtful of others.  Yet, in Christ, we have been made new!  In baptism, each one of us has been washed clean!    In reconciliation, sometimes called the second baptism, we can feel that joy and peace again!   We can experience being persons made as a new creation, something holy and set apart for God!     Don’t ever let anyone tell you that you can never change, or to keep judging you based on past behaviour or past circumstances in your life.    In Christ all of us have the opportunity to experience being made new, with our old selves being buried with our sins.     A point to ponder as our Lenten journey continues in this fourth week.
